Wasundhara Joshi, MD
Wasundhara has lived and worked in Mumbai, India. She studied at the University of Mumbai from where she obtained an MD in Pediatrics following which she pursued an interest in Neonatology. She served as a Lecturer in the Department of Pediatrics for 10 years, during which time she joined her colleagues to set up a not-for-profit organization SNEHA, the Society for Nutrition, education and Health Action. This organization is focused on improving the health of women and children especially those belonging to the urban poor.
From 2003 TO 2008, Wasundhara served on the board of SNEHA, and also directed the Behavior Change model and Research with Health care providers and the community. She has studied Organizational Development and has successfully led several change management initiatives. She specializes in the use of Appreciative Inquiry as a method for the same. She is a certified Organization Change facilitator.
Since August 2008, Wasundhara has held the position of Executive Director of SNEHA and has overseen its growth. She has a particular interest in research and behaviour change, especially related to Child Health and Nutrition in urban settings.
Wasundhara has a passion for people, working with her husband, Sankar, to help them grow by connecting with their wholeness and power, using body work, music and art.
